3D-image-rotation
2024Infinite 3D image carousel in pure HTML & CSS
This is a small, satisfying proof of how far pure CSS can go. A set of images is arranged into a ring in 3D space and rotated forever on a smooth keyframe loop — no libraries, no canvas, no JavaScript framework, just transforms, perspective and animation. It's the kind of focused experiment that sharpens an intuition for the CSS transform pipeline.
The entire effect is a couple of files: the markup lays out the image ring, and the stylesheet does all the heavy lifting with translateZ, rotateY and an infinite animation. It's deliberately tiny so the technique is easy to lift and adapt.
Highlights
- 100% HTML + CSS — no JavaScript framework, no dependencies.
- Uses 3D transforms (perspective, rotateY, translateZ) and an infinite keyframe loop.
- Small enough to read end to end and drop into any page.
